East Lothian charity Walk With Scott Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting health, wellbeing and inclusion, is delighted and very proud to announce it has awarded £10,000 to The Haven. The Haven, which recently relocated from Tranent to Haddington, is run by Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and provides help to young people and their families who are struggling with mental health related challenges.

Colin McGinn, Vice Chair of WWSF said:
Walk With Scott Foundation continues to support the people of East Lothian and we recognise there is huge demand for mental health support throughout the County. This is a significant award for the Foundation underlining our belief in the value of mental health support for young people and families in East Lothian. We believe The Haven is providing exceptional help to those in need. It has been a huge success in Tranent and its recent move to Haddington will allow its services to be expanded through a wider catchment area, larger premises and extended opening hours.
This is one of the largest single awards WWSF has made and reflects a number of fundraising efforts over the Spring and Summer of this year. None of this would be possible without the support from our amazing proud family of ‘Scotters’ and others who support our events. On behalf of those we are privileged to help, our thanks go to them.
Fiona O’Sullivan, Director of Children’s Wellbeing at Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, said:
“We’re enormously grateful to the Walk With Scott Foundation for their incredibly generous support of The Haven. We know what a milestone gift this is for the Foundation, and we are absolutely thrilled.
“We’re incredibly proud of the success of The Haven. Poor mental health is one of the biggest challenges of this generation and to have been able to support so many young people, and their families, struggling with this is really inspiring.
“It’s only thanks to the dedication and kindness of supporters like the Walk With Scott Foundation that we have been able to provide such valuable support and intervention. We cannot thank them enough.”
