WWSF is proud to announce a significant £12,000 award to Active Schools East Lothian. The funds will have a hugely positive impact supporting Active Schools to minimise barriers to participation in sport and physical activity for children and young people in our community. The funds will be used to provide support, training and equipment to those who need it.
Colin McGinn, Vice Chair of WWSF said:
Walk With Scott Foundation’s main ethos is to promote positive health and wellbeing throughout East Lothian. Funding awards such as this one for Active Schools supports our ethos and encourages inclusion by bringing people together in our Communities. This is a significant award for the Foundation to make and one that we feel will make a big difference to children and young people in East Lothian. Encouraging and supporting Young People back into activity is key to developing positive health and we again wish to thank our Family of Scotters for making this possible.
Mark Urwin, Active Schools East Lothian Co-ordinator said:
Active Schools East Lothian is extremely grateful to the Walk With Scott Foundation for their generosity and foresight to help people at a time when getting back into activity could not be more important. The fund managed by Active Schools will be utilised in a variety of ways, but always with the individual at the centre. Continuing the fantastic work of WWF, helping more young people who need a little support to get more active, more often. Scott himself left a long legacy of helping young people in his community, often unseen by many, this is a fitting tribute to that work.
